Purpose of the Form

The CP²R form is a holistic tool designed to interpret a teacher's alignment with instructional goals. It serves as a starting point for respectful, purpose-driven conversations to improve learning experiences for both teachers and students.

The Observation Process

Who?

The teacher's direct supervisor completes the form.

When?

During a live classroom instruction session.

How Often?

At least once per semester, per teacher.

Not Evident: Characteristics are not demonstrated.

After the Observation: Next Steps

  1. Supervisor Reflects: The supervisor assesses strengths and identifies pedagogical issues using CP²R language, then lists focused suggestions for action.
  2. Meet & Discuss: The supervisor and teacher meet to discuss the observation results.
  3. Set SMART Goals: Together, they complete the Goal Setting & Action Planning form, formulating one or more SMART goals with a clear action plan.
  4. Teacher Implements: The teacher implements the tasks outlined in their action plan.
